11/07/2005 New Horror Computer Game!
I have just been sent a press release for a new actio-horror computer game.
MIDWAY CASTS MAJOR HOLLYWOOD TALENT FOR
THE SUFFERING®: TIES THAT BIND™
Michael Clarke Duncan and Rachel Griffiths to Provide Voices in Follow-Up to Critically-Acclaimed Action-Horror Game
CHICAGO, July 26, 2005 - Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment publisher and developer,
today announced that it has cast blockbuster Hollywood talent Michael Clarke Duncan and Rachel Griffiths to lend
their voices to its highly anticipated action-horror video game, The Suffering®: Ties That Bind™.
Cast in the role of Blackmore, the behind-the-scenes manipulator who seems to be pulling the strings in Ties That
Bind, is Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile, Armageddon, The Scorpion King and Sin City). Duncan's deep,
powerful voice as Blackmore will influence and antagonize players, just as Blackmore does to the game's main
character, Torque.
Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under, Blow) brings her sublime voice talents to the character Jordan, the woman in
charge of a strange paramilitary research outfit that has been conducting cleanup on Carnate Island, the site of
the prison in The Suffering®. Jordan now finds herself teamed up with Torque as they battle their way through
Baltimore in The Suffering: Ties That Bind.
"The recognizable names and voices of Michael Clarke Duncan and Rachel Griffiths add to the cinematic and visceral
elements that are the hallmarks of The Suffering franchise," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway.
"Their voices and characters play a key role in guiding the game's hero, Torque, through an edge-of-the-seat
American-style horror experience in The Suffering: Ties That Bind."
About The Suffering: Ties That Bind
The Suffering: Ties That Bind is a new descent into madness that emphasizes the disturbing terror of its predecessor
with all-new twisted creatures and a few familiar faces, melding big action sequences with visceral horror
elements. As Torque makes his way through the gritty streets of Baltimore, the disturbing demons seem to have
followed him to the mainland and are now wreaking havoc across the city. Players will explore the tough and
unforgiving inner-city streets, with poverty and urban injustices rearing their ugly heads everywhere.
The unique morality system returns, as players delve into the perverse world of Torque's sanity to discover his
past while struggling to control his future. The Suffering: Ties That Bind is scheduled to be available in
September 2005 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft
and for PC.

due to the popularity of the Dawn remake it looks like George Romero is going to get to
make Dead Reckoning (Fox are likely to put up the cash). Here’s what he says on his
official site about the subject
.
"My fourth zombie flick, "Dead Reckoning", is percolating on 'high boil' since the
'Dawn of the Dead' remake made 27 million in its first weekend. There's a very good
chance that 'Dead Reckoning' will go into production soon."
08/01/2005 Freak Out to be released on DVD
Finally someone has decided to see sense and give Freak Out the DVD release it deserves. Anchor Bay will be releaseing
the finl in the UK and U.S. sometime in spring this year. Here is the offical press release on the subject.
FREAK OUT - PRESS RELEASE
Cult indie comedy-horror 'FREAK OUT' has finally gained: DISTRIBUTION.
Anchor Bay Entertainment UK and Anchor Bay Entertainment USA have acquired the film for a
Spring 2005 DVD release, simultaneously in the UK, US and Canada.
The disc promises to boast a wealth of bonus-features as well as a remastered version of
the film itself.
The film is no stranger to horror-movie fans in the UK and USA as it has been causing quite
a stir when shown at conventions, genre festivals and college tours, (including Montreal's
FanTasia Festival, Manchester's Festival Of Fantastic Films and The Rhode Island International
Horror Film Festival where the movie won an award).
'Freak Out' has received unanimously stellar reviews from almost every established genre
movie website and fanzine. Amongst it's supporters the film can count acclaimed director
Mick Garris as one of it's fans; 'a wild, woolly sledgehammer to the face of Hollywood
conformity!' declared Mick. 'Astoundingly funny!' says Film Threat. 'I loved every minute'
cries BBC Radio 1. A bizarre achievement when you consider the lowly roots from where the
film began.
It's been almost 4 years since the camera started rolling on 'Freak Out'. The film was shot
in Southern England. It was shot on 16mm film.
The passage of time from beginning to completion was lengthy as shooting only took place
when money was in the bank, when money ran out, shooting halted until further investment
could be found and so on.
'Freak Out' is the brainchild of Beyond Therapy Entertainment who primarily consist of
threesome Christian James, Dan Palmer and Yazz Fetto. 'Freak Out' was written by James and
Palmer, it was directed by James and stars both Palmer and Fetto.
The entire cast and crew were all first time filmmakers with no industry contacts whatsoever.
With a heady cocktail of ambition and naivety they just got on with making their fast paced,
ludicrous movie which appeals to both comedy and horror nuts alike.
"I think I speak for everyone who had anything to do with 'Freak Out' when I say we are
totally erect.I mean.ecstatic about Anchor Bay picking up the movie" says Dan Palmer.
"Anchor Bay couldn't be better for 'Freak Out'" director Christian James stated "they are
the Rolls Royce of horror movie distributors, with the likes of 'The Evil Dead',
'Bad Taste', 'Halloween' and 'Dawn Of The Dead' they obviously KNOW their horror. But
they have also corned the cult market with movies such as 'Withnail and I' and 'Heathers'".
'Freak Out' was initially discovered and brought to the attention of Anchor Bay Big-Cheese;
Mo Claridge by Martin Myers, son of acclaimed UK Distributor MICHAEL Myers, the man who
launched 'Assault On Precinct 13'. John Carpenter named the now legendary 'Halloween'
maniac after the man who kick-started his career! A strange turn of events when considering
that 'Freak Out' was greatly inspired by Carpenter's work.
"This year alone we have travelled thousands of miles" explains Yazz Fetto "to festivals
such as FanTasia in Montreal to Cannes and all over England taking 'Freak Out' to
university campuses and getting an amazing student response to the movie.
It may not sound it, but at times it was pretty tough going and news like this has made
every journey worth it."
